Trying Not to Jinx Myself

Okay, so I know two posts ago I said that the next post would be full of newly remodeled bathroom pictures but I apparently jumped the gun because it isn't quite ready yet.  I'm just so excited to share it with everyone!
Aside from that, my booth and Etsy sales have been going pretty strong and steady for the past week.  It's so exciting and fun!  Pyrex is selling like crazy in the booth, so much so that I have decided to try (try is the operative word here) to only thrift for Pyrex for a while.  That way I can keep up and still save some money for Junk Bonanza (less than a month away!).
I was beginning to stress freak out that I wasn't finding any Pyrex when I hit the mother load in a skeevy indoor flea market and found a few good pieces at the thrift.  The Mom found some good pieces too, all in one glorious Pyrex-y day!

I also found this sexy Blendo pitcher.  I'm going to take a little gamble and sell this one on Etsy.  I'm nervous about shipping glass, but I think my shipping skills have come far enough along to handle it.

And speaking of sexy objects, this is the lamp I found last week.  Oh man, isn't it fabulous and super sexy?!  Thankfully The Husband really liked it so we get to keep it.  It must have been in someones garage shop because it was covered in black dust and grime but fortunately for us, the Magic Eraser made good work of that.

I also found these pretty little mid century Culver Roly Poly glasses.  I don't seem to sell glasses very well in the booth, so I will probably list them on Etsy.  What do you guys normally do with your vintage glasses you don't keep?  Have you ever had any breakage issues when you ship glass items?

The Booth Has Been Floofed

The antique mall where my booth is does a vendor night about once a quarter, and I'm telling you guys, it is so awesome!  First of all, they buy us pizza.  There will be food?  Heck yeah, I'm in!  Secondly, no customers.  We are able to spread stuff out a little better without fear of being in the way or stuff getting knocked around.  And last but not least, we get to chit chat with other vendors and the employees of the store.  A good time is had by all!
So The Mom and I got busy and did some floofing and shooshing, those are technical terms.  We wanted to showcase the springy patterns (sold the Butterfly Gold cinderella bowl the next day) and play up the globe.  Why hasn't that globe sold!?
I asked The Mom to come help me because I wanted to do something different so I needed someone else's eyes and because lets face it, she's my mom and I like her!  We mixed everything up so it's different compared to the color coordinated OCD arrangement that I had here before.  What do you think?

The Mom did the chalk board and I really like it.  Hopefully it will get that globe sold!
I also found that super sexy lamp the other day (and another one that is even sexier if you can believe it.  I'll blog about it soon).  I would love to sell that type writer (its a beast) so we tried to showcase it with the lamp and a few more office type things.

This is the view of my booth from the main hall way.  I'm kind of tucked in a little cove.
Doesn't it look good?!  Thanks Mom for all your help!!!

After I link up with The Colorado Lady, I'm heading to goof off with a friend and add some little items to the booth.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Paint By Numbers and Some Sweetness

We are so close to completing this bathroom remodel!  The plumbing is all done so now we are basically just waiting for the glass to be installed and a few other little finishes.  It can't come soon enough!  I'm ready to get to decorating and arranging.  I haven't been thrifting a ton lately because I'm still saving my funds for Junk Bonzana, but I haven't stopped all together because that, well that would be madness.
This bar set is super neat because the bottles are musical!  When you lift the decanter off the base it plays music!  I've never seen anything like it and don't know much about it.  Has anyone seen these before?  I'm going to see if the husband can mess with them a bit though because they don't always play.  I think it just needs oiled up a bit.  I'm going to display this on our new bar.

This tray was a killer deal so I couldn't pass it up.  I found this at a consignment shop in Pueblo this weekend.  In my area these are crazy expensive so I never have bought one, but in Pueblo they were every where at reasonable prices.  I might go down there and get a few more!  I still haven't decided if this is staying with me or not.  What do you guys think, should it stay or go to the booth?

These paint by numbers came from the same shop and were also a great deal.  I might keep these to decorate our family room, but I haven't made a final decision yet.  I think a gallery wall of paint by numbers would be so fabulous...

Cute little owl candle lantern side.

Freaking scary owl candle lantern side!
This went to the booth last week because it's cool and people like owls and because it frightens me a little.

This jewelry box is so sweet and still has the delicate little ballerina.  It
will be listed in the Etsy shop soon.
I've never been a big unicorn fan, but this one caught my eye because it's just so sweet. It's teeny tiny and would be a great little "thinking of you" gift and is in the Etsy shop now.
Hopefully my next post will be full of pictures of a completed bathroom because it is fabulous and I really want to share it with everyone!

Booth Update and Lovely Leather

We are in the final stretch of this whole bathroom remodel and I couldn't be happier!  It will be nice to have it done and it will be great to allow the cats in the basement again as they are getting a little cabin feverish being only on the one floor and making me crazy!
The thrifting has been pretty decent lately.  I've found a few pieces of Pyrex but nothing terribly exciting. Just Spring Blossom, Butterfly Gold and one Flamingo Pink dish.  Those items went right to the booth because Pyrex is selling crazy fast right now.  I wish I could get some of the other smalls to move too.  I did score a huge stack vintage Colorado Springs post cards on Ebay a few weeks ago and stuck a chunk of them in the booth.  They sold fairly quickly which I expected after I put a $1 each tag on them.  They are neat and I want people to enjoy them.
Sorry for the weird glow caused by the overhead light.  The people at my antique mall call me the Pyrex Girl.   I think it's a pretty cool nickname if you ask me.  : )
My most favorite non Pyrex find this week has to be this vintage tooled leather bag.
Swoon!  Isn't it beautful?  It has that same tooled and painted butterfly design on the back but it is a little bit larger.  The handle of this bag is braided leather and it is buttery soft.  I'm in love with this baby, and will be using it for a little while before I sell it, if I do at all!  So since I found this one, I'm going to sell the one I found a few months ago.  I know a lot of people were interested in it when I posted about it here so I'm going to offer it to my blog friends for $14 (plus shipping) before I list it on Etsy for $18.00.  If you are interested, let me know in the next three days!  I accept PayPal and can send you an invoice.  : )  I'm joining the parties at Apron Thrift GirlSir Thrift A LotSumo's Sweet StuffRemnantYoung Heart Old Soul, The Thrifty Groove and A Living Space.  Have a great rest of your weekend and week everyone!!!

Wishlist Thursday

I've been working really really hard on being good and not buying too much stuff for myself lately.  Since I am a stay at home mommy now, I almost never buy expensive things for myself because The Little Dude or the house needs something more important, or the booth needs merchandise.  And it may sound like I'm complaining but I'm not.  I have been really lucky in my life to have had everything I needed, and usually what I wanted too.  I'm totally find with not indulging in my wants right now, but that doesn't mean I don't still window shop. : )
These (well any one of them in this shop actually) vintage biology pull down charts are on my wishlist.  Check out this Etsy shop, it's glorious!
I'm partial to oceanic critters.
Insects are cool too!
I would probably give my left arm for one featuring an Octopus or Squid, though that might always be a dream as they are hard to find.  One day I would like to have a collection of these hanging on my family room wall.
Do you have any special items on your wishlist?  I'm going to head over to The Colorado Lady then day dream a little more about my biology chart gallery wall...

Shifting Gears

I'm going to take a moment to sit here and catch my breath because holy cow I have been busy!  On top of all my house wifey and motherly duties (he's walking now, so I'm running) we are in the middle of a bathroom remodel which has been occupying a lot of my time.
Sneak peak at the new shower!
We haven't been doing much of the actual work, but let me tell you that trying to find all the crap that goes into the bathroom has been a wicked pain in my rear.  Anyway, we are about 60% done and the work is moving fast, so I really have absolutely nothing to complain about.
And things have been selling fast at my booth, mainly Pyrex.  People are loving it right now, so I have been working hard to keep it stocked up.  For now I will be shifting my focus and thrifting a little less for small decorative items and more for Pyrex and functional housewares.  That seems to be what it is moving right now.  Plus I've got to start saving funds for Junk Bonanza in April!  I'm getting so excited!

This Golden Branch casserole dish came with the strangest lid.  Does anyone know anything about this?  Is it the correct lid, or did a previous owner get a little nuts with some gold leaf and paint?  Someone should really start a gold pattern only collection..  That would be so fancy and elegant!

This is a neat pattern that I had never seen before.  I like how it can go into any kitchen and match since it is so neutral.

This is the first time I've seen a Shenandoah piece in good shape.  I know it isn't a favorite among collectors, but I like it.  Delicate and pretty.

I'm all about the functional items lately. Organizers don't have to be boring and ugly.  This little brass turtle ring holder is a perfect example of that.  It will organize your little odds and ends and look freaking adorable at the same time!  Those are rings I made from my Grandmas vintage buttons.  Aren't they cool?!
I'm a sucker for a vintage bag, and when I see one in good shape I have a hard time saying no.  This bag is way, way, way too small for me and all my nonsense, so I listed it in the Etsy shop.  It would make a great evening bag, something different from the standard black clutch.
I have found a lot of really neat vintage souvenir plates lately.  Do any of you have a collection of them?  Do you re-sellers find they sell well?   The Mom displays a small collection in her bathroom and it looks so neat!  It is a fun way to add color and flair to your space!
I'm going to work today on getting some stuff together for the booth and for my Etsy shop.  I'm so thankful that all this is going so well, I really do love it!   But before that I'm joining the parties at Apron Thrift GirlSir Thrift A LotSumo's Sweet StuffRemnantYoung Heart Old Soul and A Living Space.  Have a great week everyone!!!
